The Sponge Who Could Fly, or Lost Episode (Lost at Sea and Absorbing Favorites DVDs only) is a high semi-infamous of SpongeBob SquarePants. In this episode, SpongeBob tries different methods in order to fly with the jellyfish.
Why it can't fly due to gravity[]
To get the tape out of the player, The selfish and greedy Bikini Bottomites are clearly meant to torment SpongeBob's wish and desire to fly when he and his kite fell on the ground, they are treating him as their own personal slave just as they did with Squidward in Giant Squidward, which was 94 episodes before it finished getting produced. And worst of all: Cannonball Jenkins destroys his pants and ruins his chances to fly with them. To make matters worse, they destroy and mourn the pants instead of him. And another SCUMBOB!-infamous thing is: The People were crying when SpongeBob's pants were destroyed and the Bikini Bottomites were crying, it was so TERRIBLE! What is also horrible is when SpongeBob ignores people and their favors. Have they learned NOTHING?! And also, Another thing is this episode (The Lost Episode) is worse than the episode that happened 90 episodes and 5 years later.
Moral of the predicament: Do NOT use someone's powers for greed, laziness or selfishness! And earlier on, they ridicule him for having dreams and proceed to start a riot for it which only goes to show just how hypocritical they are; this was before Little Yellow Book was aired and produced, is anybody sane enough now in the Bikini Bottom?
Also some scenes feel a bit boring and unnecessary, such as the clips of previous Spongebob episodes.
Redeeming Qualities That Can Fly[]
Patchy's line: SpongeBob Betrayed Us because a famous meme. Also the episode has some funny jokes (especially before the townspeople show up in the 2/4th act) like “we better do what he says, he knows how to grow food” and the “SquarePants Flyer MK III scene. Also the "cheap walk cycles" scene is very funny. Really, all of the Patchy scenes are the best part of the episode, making the actual lost episode itself feel boring. The scene where one of the tiny SpongeBob’s tries to escape is also funny.
The Cheap Walk Cycle.
The Jellyfish becoming docile and cheer up SpongeBob by helping him fly ( which is adorable ).
Stephen Hillenburg plays a cameo role as the miner guy inside the treasure chest who gives Patchy the Lost Episode tape.
