Why people hate this scene[]
- A lot of people hate this scene because, c'mon, why would Mr. Krabs fire SpongeBob for a single little nickel? It's stupid... And SpongeBob cries for a minute straight! Not to mention how dumb it is that SpongeBob is the only reason Mr. Krabs makes nickels in the first place! This doesn’t work because it’s the thing that sets up the whole special! It isn’t a quick 20 second gag that you can forget about afterwards, but NOPE. You gotta watch a whole 60 SECONDS of SpongeBob mopping and bawling that he lost his job, thanks to this heartless Red “Crustaceous Cheapskate” boss, Eugene H. Krabs.
Redeeming Qualities[]
- SpongeBob was the only likable character in the scene.
- Mr. Krabs did get his comeuppance about 15-20 minutes later near the end of the episode when his customers left the Krusty Krab for making terrible Krabby Patties.
