The Krabby Kronicle is a Very Extremely high infamous episode of SpongeBob SquarePants. In this episode, Mr. Krabs establishes a newspaper.
Why Nobody Bought The Newspaper[]
- This episode is a huge rehash of the book "Stop the Presses!", where here, Patrick doesn't join in making bogus stories.
- Fake news to torment the lives of the victims and counterfeiting money, at least Mr. Krabs got what he deserved by losing his real money; he should've thought about this from the very beginning just so he can quench that greedy desire for the ultimate jackpot.
- Plankton even says, "And I thought I was evil", which shows that he's somehow shocked at Mr. Krabs being on the same level if not even lower than him.
- This episode is basically the SpongeBob SquarePants version of Fake News (Oggy and the Cockroaches), Ponyville Confidential (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic), and For Whom the Belle Trolls (Hamster and Gretel), in which involve the town shunning the main character due to bogus information over the entire episode.
- In the end, Mr. Krabs still manages to make money, by copying it, which is illegal, and according to Wikipedia "The anti-counterfeiting laws passed by Congress state that whoever, with intent to defraud, falsely makes, forges, counterfeits, or alters any obligation or security of the United States can be imprisoned for up to 20 years, with a possible accessory fine."
- To make matters worse, this episode is paired up with the SCUMBOB!-infamous episode Boating Buddies.
Redeeming Qualities[]
- Patrick marrying the pole (which SpongeBob drew over Patrick watching a pole) was actually really funny.
- SpongeBob reporting over Patrick watching a pole was quite humorous, and in-character in terms of the current season.
- Unlike in Little Yellow Book, the Bikini Bottomites don't engage in making the problem worse and help solve it. The Bikini Bottom Townsfolk actually understand who the villain here is, and eventually riot against Mr. Krabs.
- At least SpongeBob realized what he was doing wrong (unlike in this abomination) about blindly following Mr. Krabs’ orders to make fake newspapers, and tries to confront Mr. Krabs about the whole problem. He finally gives him a taste of his own medicine by making an embarrassing newspaper about his boss.
- This episode teaches the dangers of fake news, which is illegal and in extreme cases, can be fatal. This also aged into what Twitter/X's like now.
- Everyone but Mr. Krabs is a likable character.
- Mr. Krabs gets the treatment he deserves for being a greedy jerk.
- Plankton didn't steal the formula for once.
Trivia[]
- This episode premiered during the infamous premiere week Bikini Bottom Confidential.
- Despite how infamous it is, Nathaniel Bandy thinks it’s the 2nd best episode of season 6 because (much like Bulletin Board) it’s story is portrayed as how social media is becoming an issue in the real world nowadays.
- One of the Bikini Bottom townsfolk states it's cruel and inhumane to overwork an underage child. (referring to SpongeBob)
