Squidward's Sick Daze is a super-infamous episode of SpongeBob SquarePants. In this episode, Squidward fakes being ill to get out of work, but Mr. Krabs sees through his lie and sends SpongeBob to care for him.
Why It's Sick (In A Bad Way)[]
- It is a ripoff of the episodes Squiditis and Squid's Day Off without the humor that made those episodes work. It is also an example of Squidward torture.
- This episode is also pretty boring.
- Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob are both unlikeable jerks towards squidward throughout the episode. In fact, when Mr. Krabs found out about Squidward's lie, he could just punish him in ways like scolding him, lowering his salary, or even firing him. Sending a destructive yellow sponge that was created by Satan himself to care for him is WAY too harsh on Squidward.
- Bad Ending: Most part of Squidward's bad dream at the beginning comes true, causing him to melt.
- SpongeBob stings Squidward with jellyfish and forces a sea urchin up Squidward's butt, as Squidward screams.
- SpongeBob also impersonates a doctor which is a serious crime, except in bikini bottom.
- SpongeBob violates Squidward
Not-so sick Qualities[]
- It's funny and it has plenty of jokes and gags. People seem to enjoy the strudel joke, the "a wall!" quote, Patrick making monkey sounds, and Squidward throwing up after seeing SpongeBob's painting.
- Some people say its Squidward Torture done right.
- At least SpongeBob wasn't as bad as Mr. Krabs because SpongeBob didn't know that Squidward was faking it, but Mr. Krabs does.
- Squidward was likable.
- Spongebob, unlike other episodes isn't annoying and tries to help Squidward.
- Handsome Squidward from a ULTRA-famous episode "The Two Faces of Squidward" makes a return.
- In a way, it has a few interesting Dhar Mann references, such as the general plot of someone faking sick so he or she does not have to attend something.
- It is also very relatable for people like Squidward, who always has hard days at work and just wants to escape the seemingly endless cycle.
- However, SpongeBob and the customers torture Squidward like at the beginning of the episode and he becomes normal again, which proves that everybody/every little thing bothers him a lot.
- Plus some people didn't like this reference.
How to cure this episode![]
- Make the plot something that doesn't rip off Squiditis or Squid's Day Off
- Make it fairer to Squidward.
- Make SpongeBob nice to Squidward.
- Make the ending different like it involving Squidward telling Mr. Krabs what actually happened and SpongeBob gets punished the same way Squidward got punished in the ULTRA-famous episode Chum Fricassee so SpongeBob will get some karma at the end.
Reception[]
This episode is considered one of the worst episodes of Season 13 along with Something Narwhal This Way Comes, Plane to Sea, and SquidBird.
