Squidward Ink SQUIDWARD TORTURE!
This contains torture to Squidward Tentacles, so if you're a fan of him, look away NOW.

Squidtastic Voyage is a semi-infamous episode[1] from SpongeBob SquarePants. In this episode, SpongeBob and Patrick travel inside Squidward to retrieve his clarinet reed.

Why they will think outside the box next time (they won't).[]

Apparently the reason they believe this to be bad involved the following below:

Gross out: The title is anything but squidtastic as his clarinet reed is stuck in his own throat, which Squidward should be dead by now since he's literally choking on it.

Massive plot hole: The writers need an excuse to have Sandy to put them inside Squidward rather than grow it back to normal size to get them out. The same analogy applies to Someone's in the Kitchen with Sandy, where they need a reason to not have her take her suit to hunt down Plankton who stole her fur pelt.

Braindead Patrick: Patrick is way too stupid in this episode. He thinks Sandy is inside the control booth and destroys it by hitting it with a axe. The only time Patrick is smart is when he comes up with a plan on how to get out of Squidward's stomach.

Torture: Really now, fighting over the controls of the submarine? Do they even listen to themselves because they're going to kill him since they're striking his brain stem, even Sandy points this out to them.

Is there any hope left for Squidward by this point?

Ironically this episode was paired with the famous episode That's No Lady.

Squidtastic Qualities[]

  • Most parts are funny.
  • Patrick being smart in the stomach scene, while unexpected, can be satisfying to see.
  • A Fantastic Voyage-esque episode is a cool idea.
  • Spongebob and Sandy (and Patrick, in his smart scene only) are likable.
