Oh magic 8-Ball, is this season going to be good?*shakes 8-Ball*8-Ball: No.
SpongeBob Season 8 is a low ULTRA-infamous season of SpongeBob SquarePants.
Why This Season Is Not A Crazy Eight[]
- Many of the episodes are rather dull, slow-paced, bland, forgettable, and lack a significant amount of humor.
- There are also as a lot of Squidward torture (though not as bad as Season 6) and SpongeBob torture episodes. It even has some very infamous episodes like Pet Sitter Pat, Smoothe Jazz at Bikini Bottom, Are You Happy Now?, Face Freeze!, The Googly Artiste, Oral Report, and Demolition Doofus.
- Although the animation has seen some improvement from Seasons 6 and 7, it remains dull, limited, and suffers from occasional frame rate issues.
- Although some characters, such as SpongeBob, are no longer subject to flanderization, others, including Mr. Krabs and Patrick, continue to be exaggerated.
- Patrick's character is portrayed at his worst in this season, as depicted in episodes such as "Smooth Jazz at Bikini Bottom," "Oral Report," "Restraining SpongeBob," "Patrick's Staycation," "The Googly Artiste," and "Pet Sitter Pat."
- The music production, whether original or not, tends to be dull and monotonous throughout the season.
- Patrick is at his worst here.
Redeeming Qualities[]
- This season has seen the reversal of flanderization for several characters, including SpongeBob.
- Despite its flaws, this season is considered to be an improvement over Seasons 6 and 7, with better writing, animation, reduced character flanderization, and the return of SpongeBob's voice to its normal pitch since Season 3.
- A good chunk of the infamous episodes aren't extremely hated and have a more mixed reception.
- It has some very famous episodes like "Frozen Face-Off", "Planet of the Jellyfish", "It's A SpongeBob Christmas", "Hello Bikini Bottom!".

Trivia[]
- Ironically (no matter which way you look at it), the last episode of this season in production order is the extremely famous special Hello Bikini Bottom!, which ironically is the last episode of the infamous dark era that ran from mid-2008 to late 2012. In airing order, it was still a LEGENDARY-famous special: It's a SpongeBob Christmas! But it wasn’t the official end of the dark era as unless you count Season 9A the last actual episode of the dark era is unfortunately SpongeBob You’re Fired. But in airing order the last one is Yeti Krabs. Which makes the dark era officially ran from mid-2008 to early 2015.
- In the last couple of a years, a majority of the fans have begun to like this more and call this a decent and good season.
- This JaxlovesSonya9’s Second Favorite Season Behind Season 3.
- Ironically, despite being better than Season 7, it has a higher ratio of infamous episodes to non-infamous episodes.
