SpongeBob Season 7 is an ULTRA-infamous season of SpongeBob SquarePants. Along with Season 6, it is considered one of the two contenders for the worst season of the show.
Why 7 Isn't Lucky In This Case[]
- The elephant in the room refers to some of the most infamous episodes, specifically "A Pal for Gary" and "One Coarse Meal." These episodes are notorious for being dull, humorless, mean-spirited, and containing disturbing content, with characters at their worst, coupled with lazy and illogical writing.
- Or, better yet, it contains FIVE DIFFERENT SCUMBOB-INFAMOUS EPISODES! How do you make a season that has FIVE of the WORST EPISODES in your show’s history?!
- THREE of them are even INFINITE SCUMBOB INFAMOUS! This makes this the only season so far to have any INFINITE SCUMBOB-infamous episodes, other than season 9A with SpongeBob You’re Fired.
- Or, better yet, it contains FIVE DIFFERENT SCUMBOB-INFAMOUS EPISODES! How do you make a season that has FIVE of the WORST EPISODES in your show’s history?!
- The animation shows a slight improvement over Season 6, yet it remains lackluster and feels inferior from the first five seasons.
- The characters have become as flanderized, if not more so than in Season 6, depicted at their most extreme in several episodes.
- SpongeBob is portrayed at his most unfavorable in "A Pal for Gary" and "A Day Without Tears." In the former, he is depicted as even more of an oblivious fool than usual, and in the latter, his crybaby status from Season 6 reaches its zenith.
- Patrick is depicted in his least favorable light in "Stuck in the Wringer," where he is portrayed as particularly malicious and unintelligent, as well as in "Pet Sitter Pat" from Season 8.
- Mr. Krabs is at his absolute worst in "One Coarse Meal" as he torments Plankton to the point of being driven to suicide.
- The miniseries "Legends of Bikini Bottom" faced criticism for its uninspired content, subpar and illogical writing, lack of humor, and for seeming like regular episodes instead of the special "legends" they were advertised to be, leading to a notable disappointment in ratings due to deceptive promotions and failure to meet its potential.
- This season seems to resemble an adult cartoon more closely, given its offensive, unsettling, and disturbing content, along with a mean-spirited nature.
- Many episodes in this season reiterate plots from earlier seasons without much originality:
- "Someone's in the Kitchen with Sandy," "Gramma's Secret Recipe," and "Shellback Shenanigans" all mirror "Imitation Krabs" from Season 2, where Plankton disguises himself to steal the secret formula, with SpongeBob trusting the impostor until the episode's conclusion. However, they fall short of the original episode's wit and charm. Repeating this storyline thrice in a single season indicates a lack of creativity and originality from the writers.
- "The Play's the Thing" revisits the concept of "Culture Shock" from Season 1, yet lacks the charm and humor of the original episode.
- "Krusty Dogs" is a respectable episode, yet it recycles elements from "Bossy Boots" in Season 2.
- "A Day Without Tears" revisits the concept of "Funny Pants" from Season 4, but this time it features SpongeBob repeatedly crying instead of laughing.
- "Rodeo Daze" is lackluster imitation of "Texas" from Season 1, being deemed dull, irritating, and illogical in comparison to its predecessor.
- The writing this season is at its nadir, being extremely unfunny, illogical, lazy, devoid of originality, and mean-spirited.
- The humor falls flat, relying heavily on filler material and simplistic jokes designed to elicit quick laughs from the audience, alongside drawn-out gags.
- This is undoubtedly the worst season of the series for the reasons stated above.
Lucky 7 Qualities[]
- It has very famous episodes which includes but not limited to, Enchanted Tiki Dreams, Perfect Chemistry (which ended this season on a high and positive note), Kracked Krabs, Earworm, The Abrasive Side and Squidward in Clarinetland.
- This season has improved upon Season 6 in some aspects.
- The animation has improved slightly, though it remains lackluster.
- The formula for Squidward's torment, which was prevalent in Season 6, has been somewhat reduced, and SpongeBob is depicted as not pursuing Squidward as persistently as he did in the prior season.
- While Season 6 deteriorated over time, this season improved as it progressed, albeit slightly. Most of the season's least favored episodes were in the earlier half, with two notable exceptions.
- Even though they are rare, there are still occasional moments of humor.
- Some infamous episodes such as Back to the Past and Tunnel of Glove aren't that infamous and are liked by many fans.

Reception[]
- Like SpongeBob Season 6, this season is considered one of if not the worst season of the show. PIEGUYRULZ considers this season ScumBob, although he thinks it's an improvement over Season 6. He also pointed out Patrick being annoying in every episode in his initial bottom five, whether he derps around with Raarg, giggles with SpongeBob, constantly eats all of the tartar sauce and then travels back to the present to Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy's deaths, and/or acts obnoxiously.
- Excluding Season 14, which isn't finished airing, this season has the lowest amount of LEGENDARY-famous episodes, with only one.
