Season 6 is a ULTRA to HYPER-infamous season of SpongeBob SquarePants. Along with Season 7, it is considered one of the two contenders for the worst season of the show.

Season 6

If you multiply this by 111, you can get a number that this season should've been.

Why It's Season 666[]

  1. While Seasons 4 and 5 are often seen as the beginning of the series' downturn, it was this season that cemented the show's decline in quality.
  2. Numerous characters have become so flanderized that they have become unrecognizable, losing their likability and the charm they once possessed, and possess in modern seasons.
    • SpongeBob has evolved from a somewhat naive but cheerful protagonist into an extremely irritating, obnoxious, immature, and foolish character who fluctuates between being overly joyful and overly emotional, displaying stalker-like tendencies towards Squidward.
    • Patrick has evolved from a lovable and humorous simpleton into a thoughtless and self-centered individual, displaying a lack of consideration for others, even SpongeBob, who is supposed to be his best friend. He also displays stalking-like tendencies towards Squidward.
    • Mr. Krabs' greed and obsession with money have been exaggerated to extreme extents, showing indifference to anyone or anything else, even to the point of committing malicious acts for financial gain.
    • Plankton's obsession with the Krabby Patty Secret Formula have been exaggerated to the point of also becoming a self-centered individual who displays lacks of consideration for others in numerous episodes, even Karen, who is supposed to be his wife. Speaking of which, he betrayed her in numerous episodes in the worst ways possible.
    • Karen is no any better than Plankton as she would constantly mistreat him in numerous episodes, even when he does nothing to her, especially in episodes like Plankton's Regular and One Coarse Meal. Not to mention he's supposed to be her husband.
    • Pearl has transformed from a well-intentioned teenage girl into someone who is overly emotional and self-centered, often desiring expensive items and struggling to maintain a good relationship with SpongeBob, a departure from earlier seasons.
  3. The animation, despite being a commendable effort, significantly falls short of the previous seasons, featuring a dull and faded color palette, unattractive character designs, excessively detailed and disturbing facial expressions, and an excessive reliance on gross-out humor.
  4. This season heavily relies on gross-out humor, which was only used occasionally in earlier seasons.
  5. The writing and humor have deteriorated from being exceptionally hilarious, clever, and charming to being humorless, irritating, and spiteful.
  6. Many of the episodes come across as dull, irritating, offensive, or written without much effort.
  7. Lots of episodes in this season have gross-out moments, such as The Splinter, Pet or Pests, The Toenail Scene, The Eyebrow Rip etc. In fact, almost every episode of this season has at least one gross-out moment.
  8. Lots of episodes such as Choir Boys and Truth or Square are filled and filler and and desperately trying to stretch out the runtime with overly long gags.

Redeeming Qualities[]

  1. It has very famous episodes like Krabby Road, Spongicus, Suction Cup Symphony, Not Normal, A Life in a Day, The Slumber Party, Krusty Krushers, Grandpappy the Pirate, Overbooked, Sand Castles in the Sand, No Hat for Pat, Chum Bucket Supreme, Single Cell Anverserey and Chum Caverns.
  2. Some of the "infamous" episodes like Nautical Novice, Patty Caper, Ditchin', SpongeBob SquarePants vs. The Big One, To SquarePants or Not to SquarePants, House Fancy (despite the Toenail Scene), Professor Squidward, and Sun Bleached aren't that bad and many fans call them very good episodes.
  3. Some of the humor is still hilarious.
  4. Despite its flaws, some people think it's not quite as bad as Season 7.

Reception[]

Like SpongeBob Season 7, this season is considered one of if not the worst season of the show. This is PIEGUYRULZ's least favorite Season in the show as far as we can tell (maybe he may think Season 11, 12, and/or 13 are worse than this Season, although it's very unlikely. We'll never know, since he said he'll never make a review video about those seasons), and it along with SpongeBob Season 7 were considered ScumBob Seasons to him.
