Pat No Pay is an infamous episode from Season 5 of SpongeBob SquarePants. In this episode, Patrick must work at the Krusty Krab because he cannot pay for his food.
Why Making This Episode Did Not Pay Off[]
- Patrick is an idiotic jerk, as he tries to get away with eating Krabby Patties for free and makes a complete mess of the Krusty Krab.
- Mr. Krabs is treated horribly, despite him doing nothing wrong this time. All he wants is simply for Patrick to pay for his food.
- Patrick fails to accomplish every single task that Mr. Krabs assigns him with:
- Instead of mopping the bathroom floor, Patrick eats all of the hand soap.
- Instead of putting ice in a barrel, Patrick smashes the freezer, much to Mr. Krabs' dismay.
- Instead of putting garbage in the garbage disposal, Patrick puts Mr. Krabs' money bag into it, destroying both it and the Krusty Krab.
- The pacing feels incredibly rushed, likely due to the episode only being four minutes long.
- Patrick does not face any consequences for not paying Mr. Krabs and/or destroying the Krusty Krab.
- Bad Ending: The Krusty Krab gets destroyed, as well as Mr. Krabs' bag of money, while Patrick blandly asks, "Can I eat now?"
Redeeming Qualities That Can Pay for Their Food[]
- Mr. Krabs threatening to ban Patrick from Krabby Patties and making him work at the Krusty Krab is completely justified.
- SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs are likeable characters.
- The beginning of the episode is pretty good.
- There are some funny moments here and there.
Reception[]
- Mr. Enter ranked this episode at number 10 on his "Top 10 Worst Patrick Episodes" list, due to how idiotic Patrick is and how horribly Mr. Krabs is treated.
