Squidward Ink SQUIDWARD TORTURE!
This contains torture to Squidward Tentacles, so if you're a fan of him, look away NOW.

Out of the Picture is a significantly low super-infamous episode of SpongeBob SquarePants. In this episode, Mr. Krabs buys Squidward's art, but he has to get the artist out of the picture to make profit.

Why It Should Be Out of the Picture[]

Mr. Krabs is trying to get Squidward "out of the picture" in order to make profit with his paintings, which is pretty disturbing for a kids shown in this episode, Mr. Krabs appears to be out of touch, and his flanderization has gone too far, as nobody would assume he would decide to murder one of his employees with a mallet, yet that is exactly what he does. Mr. Krabs appears to really want Squidward to be gone (similar to Mrs. Puff wanting SpongeBob to be gone in Demolition Doofus), since he discourages SpongeBob from assisting him. The ending where Squidward and Mr. Krabs become "art" after the Krusty Krab's roof crushes them may be unsatisfactory to many people. The jokes in this episode are lame, despite the Squidward torture jokes. The appearance of the Art Appraiser is intentional, who admires Mr. Krabs to kill Squidward so that the paintings will appreciate in value literally comes out of nowhere.

Redeeming Qualities[]

The Rock Bottom City reappears in the series. At least Squidward and SpongeBob are likeable characters. Many jokes can be funny aside from the Squidward torture. Despite the bad ending, Mr. Krabs does get his comeuppance for his actions. There is an appearance from Mars, and the snow scene was famous.

Reception[]

With a 5.5/10 rating on IMDb, this episode is infamous and is considered one of the worst episodes of season 10. PieGuyRulz, however, loves this episode and says it is his fourth favorite of the Season for being a very funny episode in his opinion.

Trivia[]

  • The part where the art appraiser pretends to hang himself or committing suicide in demonstration of what "Out of The Picture" meant was cut in the UK.
