Nautical Novice is a high semi-infamous episode of SpongeBob SquarePants. In this episode, SpongeBob goes on a field trip to the Boating Museum.

Why It's a Nautical ScumBob

People call this ScumBob because of the close-up scene of SpongeBob's tired face, Mrs. Puff actually threw away her chance to get rid of SpongeBob... that's just great, and she never realizes her mistake and the ending is just stupid, like the guy just randomly appeared out of nowhere to say that "he was the one driving the boat." it was just a stupid reason to not give SpongeBob his license.

Redeeming Qualities

1. It has some funny jokes,
2. An educational episode
3. Depending on your view, the ending it's a status quo that SpongeBob will never gets boating license, just like New Leaf that Plankton will never succeed in stealing the Krabby Patty secret formula

Trivia

Ironically, during its first airing, it was paired with Spongicus, a famous episode. This and it’s sister episode, Penny Foolish, played the same music in the title card, Drunken Sailor.
