Nature Pants is a non-infamous episode. In this episode, SpongeBob gives up a modern life to live with the jellyfish, but it's not what he imagined being like.

Why It Needs To Get Back Inside[]

While Anti-Humanists/X-treme ecologists who prefer to be like animals may like this episode, fans probably won't, however.

It's quite depressing due to the many sad moments within and who can really blame someone who wanted to give up a complicated modern life, only to find out that the wild is as cold and without that warmth they were given before? SpongeBob is also tortured, mostly by nature.

Patrick's behavior in this episode is very disturbing bordering on obsession and psychopathic.

There's also some strangeness with the awkward ending.

Redeeming Qualities[]

SpongeBob does return home as his friends surprise him with a party, which can be considered heartwarming.

Moral: Don't sacrifice your great life and friends for wild animals.

It spawned the tired SpongeBob and savage Patrick meme

It has pretty relaxing music in the title card.

A few pretty funny scenes.

How to fix this episode[]

Instead of making SpongeBob totally want to give up his great life and friends for the jellyfish, make him want to embrace nature because he loves jellyfishes.

Then, Mr. Krabs uses SpongeBob's desires to embrace nature for money. He could relocate the Krusty Krab in the Jellyfish Fields. Sandy's warnings would stay, and she would warn Krabs and SpongeBob before they decide to relocate the Krusty Krab.

At first, things could seem to go well. But soon, jellyfishes start to attack the restaurant, and its customers & workers. Slowly, Mr.Krabs and SpongeBob realize Sandy was right, and that the wild isn't as happy as they thought.

Also, remove the whole plot with Patrick wanting to hunt down SpongeBob.

and also get rid of all the parts where Patrick cries and just have him join SpongeBob

Trivia[]

  • Ironically, it's paired up with the ULTRA-famous "Opposite Day".
