Home Sweet Rubble is a semi-infamous episode of SpongeBob SquarePants. In this episode, SpongeBob's pineapple house starts decomposing.
Why It's Rubble[]
People call it ScumBob because it is boring and is a rehash of Home Sweet Pineapple. SpongeBob salvaging the wilting pineapple was pretty much one of the few entertaining moments to watch in this episode. One of the jokes was too drawn out where it is to be a relatable moment but it only tires the audience watching the scene. Oh yes, Squidward also got into discomfort after being forced into it without permission. At least, it isn't stacked with more undeserved agony or that would just be torture throughout.
Watching the team trying to fix SpongeBob's house is a fun concept but the pacing is very slow without much humour or anything to engage the viewers. SpongeBob got some karma for neglecting Gary at the end but that really doesn't make the episode much better at all. There isn't much that stands out about this episode. It is just really forgettable and there's a very predictable ending. It is forgettable to the point that the writers most probably forgot to structure this episode properly. Is that the theme to differentiate itself from "Home Sweet Pineapple"?
There is also that dragged out scene where we see Patrick dream that he is an office worker and does nothing for a whole minute while SpongeBob struggles with his rotting house! That was obviously filler that rivals the dreaded doorbell scene.
PIEGUYRULZ, however, gave this episode a meh.
