- Squidward and the townspeople are COMPLETE JERKS when they see SpongeBob hugging his grandmother and laugh!
- Also not only they’re still acting like bigots, but they are also being stupid and childish, even they saw SpongeBob and his grandma gave each other’s, which is pretty nice and heartwarming, and NOT stupid and juvenile like how those townsfolk are acting! They should grow up! They’re not even trying to be edgy either!
- The way they peek through SpongeBob's grandma's window is VERY CREEPY!!
- They just peek through SpongeBob's grandmother's window for fun. In reality, they would've gotten arrested and sent straight to jail for such a bad thing with no reason from the police fish.
- Plot Hole: How did Squidward and the townspeople know where SpongeBob's grandma lives?! These creeps must have followed him and Patrick to her house undetected offscreen.

The ending was universally panned as one of, if not, the most hated endings of the classic era and the entire series, because it shows Squidward and the citizens of Bikini Bottom peeking through SpongeBob's grandmother's window while they hug it out after his tantrum about acting his age. This scene would lead to SpongeBob's death in the future by Squidward and the townspeople of embarrassment, if not canon.
