Customer: Didn't you ever once think of the customer?! You call yourself a delivery boy?! WELL, I AIN'T BUYING!!!"

The Customer is a SCUMBOB!-infamous character from SpongeBob SquarePants. He appears in the episode Pizza Delivery and he is voiced by Doug Lawrence.
Why We Should Intentionally Not Bother To Give Him His Diet Dr. Kelp[]
You know the old saying, "The customer is always right". But that's not the case with this character. The customer refused to pay for the pizza just because SpongeBob and Squidward forgot to bring his Diet Dr. Kelp, which he didn't even order in the first place. He even angrily asked how if he is supposed to eat the pizza without his drink, which shows how ungrateful he is. What's even worse is that he ordered pizza from the Krusty Krab, a restaurant that doesn't even serve pizza, let alone deliver, as Squidward points out. Even worse, he ordered pizza during closing time. It just goes to show that he is not only ungrateful, but he is also stupid and greedy. It didn't help the fact that SpongeBob and Squidward risked their lives to deliver the pizza to him. He even threw the pizza over the tearful SpongeBob and angrily slammed the door in front of him. If that wasn't enough, he even insulted poor SpongeBob for "not thinking about the customer".
The act was so cruel that it made Squidward of all people show sympathy for SpongeBob. Squidward retaliated by throwing the pizza at his face, which was a well-deserved punishment. He is arguably the most hated character in the entire show, considering that he represents the worst traits of an unsatisfied and disrespectful customer.
Now, it might be possible that he ordered a Diet Dr. Kelp as he said something before Mr. Krabs hung up. Even if he did, he could've just easily called them back and made sure they got his part. Still, his reaction is just disproportionate. To top it all off, the Krusty Krab is right next door to his house.
Redeeming Qualities[]
- He does get a good dose of karma in the form of Squidward slamming the pizza in his face.
- He was likely meant to be hated anyway. In fact, he can be considered a "Hate Sink", which is referred to characters who the audience is supposed to dislike.
- It's a little understandable why he acted like that, because his house was extremely close in distance to the Krusty Krab, which was about to close by the time SpongeBob and Squidward delivered his pizza.
