Boss for a Day is a semi-infamous episode[1] of SpongeBob SquarePants. In this episode, Mr. Krabs has an accident and leaves SpongeBob in charge of the Krusty Krab.
Why It Doesn't Deserve To Be A Boss Of Day[]
People call it ScumBob because it rips off so many episodes. Most notably Gullible Pants and CopyBob DittoPants, but it also rips off episodes like Squid's Day Off, Big Pink Loser, Bummer Vacation, and No Hat for Pat to an extent too. Not to mention there's a lot of really gross damage on Mr. Krabs that's uncomfortable to watch and the plot barely has any direction whatsoever.
Redeemable qualities[]
- Mr. Krabs does recover from his injuries.
- SpongeBob does get his comeuppance in the end when Mr. Krabs punishes him for his actions.
- Throughout the episode, SpongeBob thought he could be as good of a boss just like Mr. Krabs is. But after all the chaotic trouble he caused, the ending of the episode teaches us an important lesson about being yourself.
How to fix this episode[]
- Have Squidward calmly respond to the customer by saying, "(sighs) May I take your order, sir?", not just angrily yelling on him by saying, "WHAT DO YOU WANT?!?!".
- Make SpongeBob more tolerable and less annoying in this episode.
- Tone down the over exaggeration in the facial expressions.
- Cut the part where Patrick cleans his stuff naked so that the customers won't be freaked out at him.
Reception[]
Despite being an infamous episode, this episode received negative reviews on SpongeBuddy Mania, with a user score of 5.15/10 based on twenty votes.
