Bad Luck Bob is a semi-infamous episode from the 15th season of SpongeBob SquarePants. In this episode, SpongeBob experiences a bad luck streak when his lucky tie clip suddenly goes missing.

Unlucky Qualities

1. Judging by the title, this is a SpongeBob torture episode as he keeps getting bad luck, like:
   • Slipping out of bed
   • Getting crushed by his alarm
   • Tripping down the stairs
   • Getting shocked by jellyfish
   • Falling down the sewer
   • Getting mugged
   • Getting hit by some cars (twice)
   • Getting criticized by Bubble Bass for a bad Krabby Patty
   • Getting sent home from the Krusty Krab early
   • Getting kicked away by a sea bunny
   • Becoming a laughing stock (the worst one)
   • Getting crushed by a safe.
2. Elephant in the room: The episode is infamous for using the "superstition plot/main character's luck runs out" cliché, which has been done to death on many cartoon episodes, like "Against the Tide" from The Little Mermaid, "No Such Luck" from The Loud House, "The Curse" from The Amazing World of Gumball, "Wrong Side of the Bed" from Oggy and the Cockroaches, "Dumb Luck" from Mickey Mouse (2013 version), and "Beast Boy's St. Patrick's Day Luck, and It's Bad" from Teen Titans Go!.

6. Plot Hole: When did SpongeBob get his bad luck in the first place?
7. While still likable, Patrick did have an unlikable moment where he refused to comfort SpongeBob since he was upset about his bad luck streak just because he might gain the bad luck too.
8. The scene where Squidward and the crowd laugh at SpongeBob is totally mean-spirited, especially when they made him cry afterwards. Similar to the really infamous Little Yellow Book.

4. Squidward telling Lady Upturn to eat somewhere else was funny.
