Are You Happy Now? is a high super-infamous episode of SpongeBob SquarePants. In this episode, SpongeBob tries to help Squidward find his happiest memory.

Why the Answer to this Question is a Big, Fat NO

• First of all, the plot when contains Squidward not having a happy memory is quite useless, also, it doesn't really make sense considering the fact that Squidward has had various happy memories before this episode (Especially "Band Geeks" and "Suction Cup Symphony")
• Speaking of the plot, this episode is written much like a Squidward torture episode, with Squidward being constantly pushed away from a happy memory.
• The episode contains not one, but two suicide jokes. Suicide jokes can work if they're exaggerated in a way that make them funny, but due to this episode's oddly realistic depiction of depression, it can be seen as distasteful to most people, especially to those who have suffered (or are suffering) depression.
• The episode's ending is also infamous. With Squidward maniacally destroying tens of papier-mâché SpongeBob sculptures and claiming it is his "happiest memory", it can be implied that Squidward wants to flat-out kill SpongeBob.

Happy Qualities

• SpongeBob takes Squidward's depression seriously, like crying with Squidward when he was crying about "not having a happy memory" (although he had some), and checking on Squidward to make sure he's alive in this episode, being in one of his best portrayals in the show, also, he is a likable character here.
• The title card & its music were good.
• While some people don't like the ending, PhantomStrider said he liked the episode because it showed Squidward actually feeling something other than nothing.
• Some people might think that the depression is portrayed well.

Trivia

• PIEGUYRULZ stated that this is the only Season 8 episode that's that bad, which means other very infamous episodes in the same season, including "Pet Sitter Pat," "Demolition Doofus," & "Smoothe Jazz at Bikini Bottom," weren't that bad in his opinion.
• Ironically, it's paired up with the extremely famous episode "Planet of the Jellyfish."
