"You're just kissing up to the boss to make me look bad. Well, I won't stand for it. Gimme that card. (signs card) Trying to outsmart me, will ya? (licks envelope) There, I signed it for all of us."
― Squidward selfishly ruins everything by taking credit for SpongeBob and Patrick's hard work.
The "This was all my idea. Love, Squidward." scene is a SCUMBOB!-infamous scene in the episode, The Lost Mattress.
Why This Scene Is So Loathesome[]
After buying a new mattress for Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob and Patrick go on to make a card for him. Unfortunately, Squidward sees the duo in the act and, being the stupid, narcissistic, egomaniac he is, accused them of kissing up to Mr. Krabs to make him look stupid. Squidward, they're not trying to make you look stupid! They're just trying to do a good deed! LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!! Anyway, to make sure they don't make Squidward look like a fool and that the reward will come to him instead, the selfish octopus steals the card and ruins it by writing, "This was all my idea. Love Squidward." This action meant that Squidward wanted to take credit for SpongeBob and Patrick's work in buying the mattress when he did absolutely nothing to help! Yep, good job, Squidward! You're ruining everything!
